
Crustacean Parasite
What are Crustacean Parasite?These are large parasites which can easily be seen by the naked eyes such as anchor worm, fish lice, gill maggots, and fish leeches.
Symptoms
- Anchor worms are up to 20mm long with the head buried into the skin of the Garra Rufa fish.
- Fish Lice are disc shaped, 10mm in diameter and attach themselves to the skin or fins of the Garra Rufa doctor fish. They then feed creating prime site for secondary infection by fungus or bacteria.
- Gill Maggots are found attached to the gills, gill covers and inside the mouth. They can cause gill damage.
A common response to all these parasites is for the Garra Rufa fish to slide or rub against a hard surface.
Treatment
The solution to eliminate this problem is to use Anti Crustacean Parasite.Important: This is a cold water treatment. Follow instruction on label.
