
Cotton Wool Fungus
CausesCotton Wool Fungus on Garra Rufa fish is caused by fungal species such as Saprolegnia. These fungal spores are present in all freshwater pools. An outbreak is usually a secondary infection of an area of the Garra Rufa fish skin or gill barrier which has been damaged.
Tips for treating cotton wool fungus in Doctor Fish:
- Only use Anti Fungus and Fin rot in cold water and/or tropical freshwater pools/ponds.
- Remove carbon zeolite (ammonia remover) media before adding treatment.
- It is essential to dissolve fully in warm water before introducing to the pool or pond.
- Before re-dosing or using any other treatment you should wait for 7 days and carry out 30% water change before re-dosing
- The treatment is colorless.
- The treatment will not affect the Bio Filter.
- Most treatment will reduce oxygen content in water therefore it is essential to provide adequate aeration.
